The Beach Plaza Hotel at the corner of 14th Street and Collins Avenue in Miami South Beach was designed by L Murray Dixon in 1935.The design is quite simple with little decoration. The windows are set back between flat bulky columns and each space has a panel, just below the roofline, with a pattern made up of squares and rectangles.
The corner column bears the Beach Plaza Hotel name and a tower on the roof draws further attention to the hotel.
Like many South Beach hotels, the exterior is illuminated with strips of neon giving a completely different look after dark.
